Program Director

Description: The Program Director oversees the agency’s direct services with sexually exploited girls and young women including crisis and transitional housing, case management, support groups; defender based alternative sentencing and youth programming. The Program Director, with strong supervisor experience, who is system oriented, will ensure high quality of program delivery and is passionate about supporting girls and young women exiting the commercial sex industry.  The Program Director will oversee a team of direct service departments and be responsible for program delivery, outcomes measurement, and tracking as well as strategizing about new programming and meeting emerging needs of sexually exploited youth. The Program Director will also be a member of the Senior Management Team.

Duties:

-       Oversee the structure and operation of programs and day to day activities

-       Monitor monthly statistics, case notes, and provide evaluation reports on a monthly basis

-       Compile Board updates on a monthly basis

-       Keep staff and volunteers updated on various policy issues and on individual members cases

-       Monitor and guide staff and interns including participating in performance evaluations

-       Work with Senior Management to provide the best possible services

-       Implement policies and procedures to enable the program to run effectively

-       Troubleshoot with the Executive Director and Board to resolve program difficulties or to enhance the program to run effectively

-       Supervise programmatic growth and development

-       Responsible for overall program assessment evaluation and completion on funding based reports

-       Maintain written records of developed programs and track program effectiveness

Additional Qualifications:

-       Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Preferred

-       Knowledge, background and an investment in women’s right advocacy, cultural consciousness and competency

-       At least 5-7 years of work with youth, including increasing responsibilities

-       Knowledge of the legal system and ability to navigate bureaucracies

-       Experience supervising and managing staff, interns, and volunteers at a social service or social justice nonprofit agency

-       Experience with coalition-building and policy advocacy

-       Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office and social service databases

-       Excellent writing and public speaking skills and leadership qualities. Some experience with community based presentations, media, and public relations preferred

-       Experience working with multiple staff, volunteers, and program responsibilities

-       Strong administrative and organization skills

-       Ability to work flexible hour including some evenings and weekends

-       Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple time –sensitive tasks
