Position Title: Survivor Leadership Institute (SLI) Coordinator

Education: Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience  

Location: New York, New York, 10039, United States

Report to: Founder and President, SLI Manager

Working Relationships: Chief Program Officer; Program Director; Chief Financial Officer; Development Director

Position Summary: The SLI Coordinator’s primary role is to assist in developing, organizing, and maintaining SLI’s resource center. In collaboration with GEMS’ Founder & President and the SLI Manager, the SLI Coordinator will be responsible for supporting with logistics for all SLI related events, webinars, social media, and the creation of survivor-led and informed content. The SLI Coordinator must be a survivor of commercial sexual exploitation in order to ensure that all content created through SLI is genuinely survivor-led and informed.
Tasks and Responsibilities: This statement of duties is for purpose of identifying this position, but is not limited to:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draw upon their history and lived experience with commercial sexual exploitation to contribute to the survivor-led and informed content that SLI creates
  • Assist with developing and maintaining Resource Center on SLI’s micro site
  • Track and update all SLI databases and email lists
  • Process and examine all SLI Member Applications
  • Co-develop and facilitate monthly SLI webinars
  • Assist with updating and developing content for all SLI social media pages
  • Responsible for keeping department supply inventory up to date and for placing any requests for additional supplies.
  • Monitor SLI’s survivor-led online forum
  • Engage and build connections with survivors across the country
  • Keep up-to-date on latest CSEC policy, news, and research
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • Eligible to work in U.S.A
  • Fluency with GEMS’ mission in ending commercial sexual exploitation and domestic trafficking (CSEC)
  • Is a survivor of Commercial Sexual Exploitation (CSE)
  • Comfortable meeting deadlines and working on multiple projects at once
  • Knowledge of online social media platforms
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook
  • Ability to manage and organize databases
  • Comfortable with connecting to new people and maintaining relationships with survivors of CSEC
