Janice Holzman

Communications and Development Director

Janice Holzman has served as the GEMS Communications and Development Director since 2009. She oversees all of GEMS’ fundraising, communications, and awareness campaign activities. She comes to the agency with more than a decade of nonprofit fundraising and outreach experience, and has worked exclusively for agencies supporting women and girls for the last several years.

During her time with GEMS, Janice has particularly enjoyed the sense of family and community fostered in the agency’s weekly Cooking Group, which she helped co-facilitate.

Janice earned both her Bachelor of Arts in English and her Master of Arts in English with a focus on gender and feminist theory from The State University of New York at New Paltz. Janice has also worked as an adjunct professor of composition and rhetoric.
