Jamie Powlovich
Imani House & Supportive Housing Manager
A GEMS staff member since October 2006, Jamie Powlovich has more than eight years of experience supporting teenagers and young adults as they progress from transitional and supportive residential settings to independent living.
Jamie was originally hired as a residential counselor for GEMS’ Transitional Independent Living (TIL) program, and was later promoted to the TIL’s Support Services coordinator position. She is now the manager of GEMS’ Imani House & Supportive Housing, a program that she has managed since its inception in 2009 and was instrumental in designing. Throughout her various positions at GEMS, Jamie has enjoyed developing close bonds with and supporting the progress of GEMS members during their growth and development in the agency’s residential programs.
Jamie is currently in charge of the daily workings of Imani House as well as providing comprehensive case management and advocacy to GEMS members who reside there. She is also the facilitator of the agency’s Mommy & Me group, which aims to provide a safe space for pregnant and parenting GEMS members to receive support around motherhood.
Prior to working with GEMS, Jamie held positions with the Salvation Army, St. John’s Home for Boys, and St. Ann’s Home and School. Jamie received her Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts with a Human Services focus from Endicott College in Beverly, MA.
