Crystal L. Ward

As GEMS’ Trainer, Crystal L. Ward conducts trainings and provides technical assistance for legal professionals, law enforcement, and social service professionals on the issues of the commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC) and domestic minor sex trafficking (DMST).

Prior to joining GEMS, Crystal was a police officer with the Indianapolis Police Department; she has eight years of law enforcement experience.  As a speechwriter and political aide for the former Minority Leader of the Ohio Senate, she was responsible for speech development and delivering proclamations as well as representing the leader at various political functions in her absence.

Crystal earned a Master’s degree in Politics at Long Island University, Brooklyn, and a Bachelor’s degree at Indiana University-Bloomington with a major in Politics with a minor in Criminal Justice.
